Beauty in the dark at Pattani 2012
“Beauty in the Dark at Pattani” was my most recent collection of works. I wanted to present the truth of how to live in Islamism’s perspective. The idea is for human to search for the beauty of life and to realize of the loss of life. An apparent beauty usually shines over a distress that is very upsetting and eventually lead one’s to realize of the truth in life. This was the concept of the collection that portrayed the beauty in the dark through shapes of female Muslims under a hijab.
The women were facing each other and created a gap in the middle, known as a Guboh pillar; the pillaris a Muslim’s tombstone, representing death and addressing that there is only a thin line between life and death.
